The Don Valley on the First Day of Fall

I've ridden the Don Valley maybe forty times. I didn't expect it to still surprise me. But there's something about that first genuinely cold morning of the year — the light comes in low and golden, the leaves haven't fully turned yet, and the whole ravine smells like earth and rain.
